Better health ~ the habit of both diet and exercise
Have you noticed that the advice for better health is always"eat well and exercise"? Eat well, first.
If you have been eating mainly fruits and veggies, you are doing great. Changing one of the biggest habits we have, the way we eat, is a very hard thing to do ~ however, if you can stick with it, this new, better, healthier way of eating will quite quickly become the habit instead.
An easier thing to do is introduce new habits. If you are not exercising regularly, it is time to introduce some exercise into your life. If you have no time ~ make it a point to always walk up & down stairs. If you have a stairway in your home, walk up and down it 10 times, several times a day (morning noon and night) and you will feel a difference very quickly.
Since my mid-twenties, in the mid-eighties, I have made it a point to fit exercise into my life. I typically exercised quite often, but never considered changing my diet and while living in London, England ~ my diet included lots of wine, whiskey (single-malt) and very late night dinners. It wasn't until after I had children, a decade later, that I had to consider changing my diet.
Until now, with this challenge, I have never seriously made any change to how I eat. This is without a doubt, why I have been carrying around an extra unwanted, unsightly 20 lbs. I can easily hide these 20 lbs with loose tops, however I am always aware of it...when I sit or even when I stand.
SO, it is time to take the doctors' advice and EAT WELL. My moderate exercise will finally prove to be useful once I find my ideal body weight by eating truly well. I am certain that now, heading towards my 50th birthday, I will be in great shape finally...inside and out!

And remember to take the stairs!
