Even if you have only incorporated some of the ideas we have offered over the years, it is a step in the right direction, so I hope you feel good about it! We wrote the following during our first week here. We want to remind everyone about the China Study by reposting it today.
A good diet is the most powerful weapon we have against sickness and disease. Did you know that half of Americans have a health problem that requires taking a prescription drug every week, over 15 million Americans have diabetes (this number is steadily rising), over 100 million have high cholesterol and our youth are taking more prescription drugs than ever before!
T. Colin Campbell, PhD and author of The China Study, is lobbying for better agricultural practices and fighting to change the way we raise and grow food in America. The fight against our corrupt government agencies and 'big' business is an uphill battle someone must fight. But for the general public, we each have a choice to either take care of our selves or to buy into the food industry propaganda (supported by large corporations who could care less about our health.)
Very few people truly know what they should be doing to ensure good health and avoid sickness and disease. Since you are reading this, I am certain that you want to be informed. I am also certain that the more you dig deeper into the topic of food and disease, you will find that doing what we've been doing is the smartest move you can make in the direction of true health and well being.
Try to make a difference for yourself by avoiding foods that make us fat, depletes us of vitality and shortens and degrades our lives. Keep focused on eating a diet of mainly fruits and vegetables.
Change is good and, nothing good ever comes easy!
