Did you know that the topic of conversation recently between Agricultural Leaders, our USDA and several journalists had to do with eating milk and meat from unlabeled clone offspring??? Like Mad Cow (BSE) and the Evil Empire's Roundup Ready crops, our government stands erect behind their decision NOT to warn us about consuming very controversial and potentially lethal foods.
The 2008 FDA report ~ Animal Cloning: A Risk Assessment and a report from the European Food Safety Authority released at the same time, both raised questions about the health of cloned animals, the safety of their milk and meat and even the soundness of the clone process itself. Evidently many clones, some say 90%, are born with deformities, enlarged umbilical cords, respiratory distress, heart and intestine problems and Large Offspring Syndrome (where killing the clone and its mother is not unusual).
The Union of Concerned Scientists (a 250,000-member U.S. based non-profit science group) stated, "The choice of whether to purchase such foods should be in the hands of individuals consumers, not the government or the industry. Consumers will have such a choice only if the foods are labeled."
Big Agro's influence in government, academic and scientific research fields are pervasive and perverted. We will only get a clear, honest picture of our contaminated food supply when it is way too late. SO, to avoid contaminated milk and meat, don't consume it. We eat far too much meat and dairy, which is why health related information is so skewed...there is too much money to be made.
