The most toxic, persistent, bioaccumulative pesticides EVER registered...
Do you know what an endocrine disruptor is? They are chemicals that interfere with hormones. Do you have any idea what that does to a person? Endocrine disruptors can cause an increased risk for breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and elevated blood pressure. These chemicals are found all around us ~ household cleaners, canned foods, school supplies, cosmetics, air fresheners.
Are you surprised? You shouldn't be! There are 82,000 chemicals that are an integral part of our daily lives and less than 500 of them have ever been tested to know how safe they are for humans. At the end of August, I wrote about the EPA's announcement to ban a highly toxic insecticide that is directly linked to autism and birth defects and has been the reason for many fatal poisonings around the world. It was quietly announced...can you imagine if they made a fuss?
Be aware. Be educated.
MomsRising.org is working hard to get Congress to update the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976 (TSCA). Since this act was passed - the EPA has required testing of less than 1 percent of the chemicals in commerce! The TSCA update would require chemical manufacturers to provide basic health and safety information for all chemicals as a condition for staying in or entering the marketplace. It would also, for the first time, make that information public.
This is a no brainer! Please take less than a minute to sign the petition to get Congress to get their heads out of their arses and DO SOMETHING.
Here is a great example of how ridiculous our exposure to chemicals is: Watch this short informative, 1.36 min video. It's not a joke! Beware.
