SASHA Farm, Manchester MI
Sasha Farm Animal Sanctuary has been quietly rescuing hundreds of abandoned and abused farm animals for a couple of decades now. The farm is run by volunteers who help the turkeys, pigs, cows, goats, dogs, cats...live out the rest of their lives in safety and peace.
Sasha was one of the first puppies the founders, Dorothy Davies and Monte Jackson, saved. The farm was named in memory of the beloved dog and is also an acronym for this animal rescue operation: Sanctuary and Safe Haven for Animals.
In 2001 the sanctuary became a non-profit and today they currently shelter over 250 animals. Donations go to help in providing food and water, veterinary care, a roof over their heads, and often most importantly ~ affection, social interaction with others of their own species, and a sense of security.
