Honoring the Slow Food Movement
After much time spent on what we want for Christmas this year, here is something we all need...
Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life. It is a growing network of over 100,000 members in 153 countries.
Terra Madre Day was celebrated on December 10th with more than 170,000 people taking part in 1,140 events in communities across 125 countries to promote eating locally and sustainable food production.
Organized by the global Slow Food network of convivia, Terra Madre food communities and partner organizations supporting good, clean and fair food, communities are coming together in collective meals, local food festivals, rallies, seminars, workshops for children, excursions to producers and much more, demonstrating the diversity and life of the movement.
There is a lot of good work being done around the world to help save our health and the health of our planet. Know what is happening around you so that it is easier to make good choices.
